Pelvic Ultrasound
Pelvic ultrasounds use sound waves to make a picture of the organs and structures in the pelvis. This is achieved by using a transvaginal probe or a transducer over the lower stomach. It can investigate any problems with the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, bladder, and cervix of a woman. This includes the evaluation of pelvic pain, fibroids, ovarian cysts, pelvic masses, proper IUD placement, and of course, pregnancy. This simple non-invasive imaging technique provides an invaluable tool to quickly find answers for many gynecological problems. |
