Urinary Tract Infection

​If you are having symptoms such as painful or frequent urination, you may have an urinary tract infection (UTI). Most of the time, this is a simple bladder infection that can be treated with a single antibiotic by mouth. However, if not treated properly or in a timely manner, it can lead to a much more harmful infection of the kidneys. Some women may suffer from recurrent UTIs and may benefit with a long term treatment course. Besides getting prescribed an antibiotic, just as important is submitting a urine culture to determine antibiotic resistance / sensitivities. This is to ensure the right medication is being utilized and that you are not being under-treated.
